Neil’s top albums of 2013!

Believe it or not, 2013 was a great year for music with loads of excellent releases. While there are obviously tons of albums I wanted to include, I chose my top 10 based on how much I was moved by the music on my initial listen and how much that feeling lingered on repeated listens.  It took me a hot minute and lots of whittling down  to compile my final list, but here are my top 10 albums of 2013:

1. Valerie June – Pushin’ Against a Stone
2. Promised Land Sound – Promised Land Sound
3. J. Roddy Walston & The Business – Essential Tremors
4. John Murry – Graceless Age
5. Water Liars – Wyoming
6. JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound – Howl
7. Junip – Junip
8. Deer Tick – Negativity
9. Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires – There Is a Bomb in Gilead
10. Charles Bradley – Victim of Love

This list originally appeared on No Depression and The Horn!
